Delivery
We deliver across New York City. Delivery time and any charge depend on your address and the size of the order, so please call (646) 604-2613 when you place your order and we will confirm both before anything is cut.
Returns
Fresh meat and poultry are cut to order, so we cannot take them back once they have left the shop. If something is wrong with your order, call us the same day on (646) 604-2613 and we will put it right.
Live Hard Chicken – The One That Holds Up to a Long Curry
Ask anyone who grew up eating desi chicken and they will tell you the same thing: the bird that tastes of something is the one that worked for its living. That is the hard chicken. Firmer meat, deeper flavour, and it does not fall apart when you cook it slowly.
Ours are kept live at the shop until you choose yours. You see the bird, you see the weight, and you pay after you have picked it. The zabiha halal cut is done in front of you and the bird is cleaned while you wait.

How we will cut it
Whole with the skin on, skin removed, or chopped into curry pieces in the size you ask for. Tell the person at the counter and it is done there and then.
Hard chicken or white chicken?
Take the hard chicken when the pot is going to sit on the stove for a while. Take our live white medium chicken when you want something tender and quick for roast, grill or biryani.

Is the meat really halal?
Yes. Every bird and animal is slaughtered zabiha halal by hand at our shop, and you are welcome to watch it being done.
Can I pick the animal myself?
Yes – that is the whole point of a live market. You choose it, we weigh it in front of you, and you pay after you have chosen.
Will you cut it the way I want?
Yes. Whole, skin on or skin removed, curry pieces in the size you ask for, quartered, or breast and leg kept separate. Just tell us at the counter.
How much is a goat or a lamb?
Goat and lamb are priced by weight, so the price depends on the animal you choose. Call (646) 604-2613 for today’s rate.
Do you do flame-singed skin?
Yes. For goat and lamb you can have the traditional flame-singed skin done on the spot, or have the skin removed. Tell us which when you order.
